The post-World War II settlement under the ‘Liberal International Order’ was unique in its longevity and contribution to global prosperity. It was powerful enough to support the process of decolonization and prevent a frontal conflagration between the two superpowers. However, the liberal geopolitical and economic order is currently under attack. While some of its old adversaries, such as Russia, continue to attack it while benefiting from it, the most vocal critics are now populist movements in Europe and the United States. On the other hand, the rise of some of the countries from the Global South also signals the re-distribution of power in world politics. Thus, this roundtable will address the following questions:
- Whether the Global South Powers accept or want to modify the existing International Liberal Order?
- Is the linguistical usage of the terms ‘Global North’ and ‘Global South’ still valid?
- What implication does the rise of the Global South have on the existing Liberal International Order?
- What is the future of Liberal International Order in the shade of the increasing Global North and South division on the world view?
