The Sound Studies Section (SSS) will host a workshop titled “Sound Studies in the Curriculum” at the 2024 SEM Annual Meeting. The professional development event aims to foster an open exchange and conversation about how scholars and teachers have integrated Sound Studies concepts, theories, and techniques into their classrooms. This can include discussions about designing specific Sound Studies courses; incorporating modules on Sound Studies into established courses, such as Research Methods, Media Studies, Global Music, or Music History; or any other topic related to how Sound Studies can meaningfully find home within an (ethno)music(ological) curriculum. |
