Roundtable: Zines for Building Planning Up Location: 1.68 / Glamorgan Building
| Presentation 1 | |
Zines for Building Planning Up Newcastle University, United Kingdom Creative round table as a zine-making workshop. Discussions whilst making and doing. Participants will be invited to have an imaginative response to the conference theme: Building Planning Up. This could be by creating a zine about your research or teaching. A zine is a short magazine that often has a political or personal message. They can be made in a variety of ways and can include text, poetry, images and especially collage. Zine making is used as a research method, community participation technique, and as a teaching tool. They can even be module assignments. There is huge potential to use this across planning. Explore the conference theme or use this creative space to reflect on a hot topic in planning or even to explain your own research paper in a different way. Instructions will be given and materials provided. There will also be examples, including those from research projects. No prior experience or artistic talent required. Making a zine is about exploring ideas and communicating messages.
