OPTO-PHONONICS: CONTROLLING LIGHT AND SOUND AT THE NANOSCALE C2N Acoustic-phonons in the GHz range appear as a suitable platform to study complex wave phenomena, to access the mechanical quantum regime, and to control other excitations, motivating the development of nanophononic devices.
