SIGE PHOTONIC CIRCUITS FOR MID-IR WAVELENGTH RANGE

Ge-rich SiGe photonic circuits have been used to demonstrate a whole set of devices operating in a wide spectral range in the mid-IR. 2 octaves-supercontinuum generation was demonstrated on chip up to 13 µm, as well as optical modulation up to 11 microns wavelength.

This communication will review our recent developments in inhibited-coupling hollow-core fibers, ranging from understanding the optical guiding mechanism to new state-of-the-art performances. These results are expected to have strong impacts in a new landscape of research and technology.

FLUIDS OF LIGHT IN A NONLINEAR CRYSTAL: FROM SUPERFLUIDITY TO TURBULENCE

In this talk, I will review the concept of fluids of light. I will focus on paraxial fluids of light, and present the experimental results we obtained in a photorefractive crystal, such as the observation of the superfluid transition and the appearance of quantum turbulence through the generation of vortex pairs.
