SILICON PHOTONICS: EMERGING TRENDS, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES GHENT, France Silicon photonics is rapidly transitioning from a relatively homogeneous and monolithic technology used primarily for data center interconnect to a diverse and heterogeneous technology family serving a much broader array of applications. While this opens the door to further scaling of the impact of photonic integration on various markets, it also comes with new challenges. Building viable industrial supply chains that can handle the material and technology diversity is one of those challenges. | ||
