9:00am - 9:30am
TRAPPING OF SINGLE ATOMS IN METASURFACE OPTICAL TWEEZER ARRAYS Columbia University, United States of America I will present our recent progress on developing a scalable platform based on metasurfaces for trapping individual ultracold atoms into large arrays. This advance overcomes a critical barrier to realizing scalable quantum technologies based on neural atoms, including quantum computers, simulators, and atomic clocks. 9:30am - 9:45am
9:45am - 10:00am
WAVEFRONT SHAPING VIA NONLINEAR GEOMETRIC PHASE IN ALGAAS METASURFACE 1: Laboratoire Materiaux Et Phénomènes Quantiques, France; 2: Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany; 3: Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies, France; 4: University of Brescia, Italy; 5: Institut universitaire de France Metasurfaces provide a versatile platform for nonlinear optics, due to their ability to control light at the nanoscale. Since the χ(2) tensor rotation of AlGaAs influences both the amplitude and phase of the second harmonic field generated by a circularly polarized light, we exploit this degree of freedom to design and characterize two devices. 10:00am - 10:15am
PLASMONIC METASURFACES CONTROL OF CARRIER TEMPERATURE IN NANOCRYSTAL FILMS Universite de Paris Cite, France We show that plasmonic metasurfaces enable control of the temperature of photoexcited carriers in nanocrystal films under continuous-wave illumination. Depending on the photonic environment, carrier temperature can heated, cooled, or remain stabilized, opening new opportunities for thermoelectric devices converting light into electricity. 10:15am - 10:30am
OPTICAL MAGNETIC-FIELD-GATED CRITICALITY IN PHOTON AVALANCHING QUANTUM PROCESSES 1: CNRS, Sorbonne université, INSP, France; 2: Institut Langevin, ESPCI Paris, Université Paris Sciences et Lettres, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique We report the active gating of photon avalanching via the optical magnetic field. By modulating the magnetic ignition in thulium ions, we decouple the threshold from cooperativity, achieving a record non-linearity (s=62). This establishes the magnetic field as a key lever for collective quantum dynamics and adaptive neuromorphic photonics. | ||
