The SMT Composition Interest Group Meeting will feature six composer-theorists exploring the connection between their compositional practice and theoretical research and interest. These 15-minute short presentations will include theoretical and analytical discussions and playing of original compositions (live or recorded), focusing on topics including signature transformations and Chinese music theory, just intonation and other microtonal tensing systems, intersections of common practice and popular music, nature and composition, and African pianism.
