At SMT 2025 Minneapolis, Improvisation/Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Groups will host a joint annual meeting that celebrates the80th birthday year of Anthony Braxton. In this meeting, we invite three 10-minute presentations (plus 10-minute QnA) on Anthony Braxton, his contemporaries, and analytical approaches to improvisation in contemporary concert music. A group QnA will then follow.
