Migration to the New Pure Portal: Reflections and Lessons Learned from the Experience. Case: Universidad Católica de Santa María. Universidad Católica de Santa María - (PE), Perú By the conclusion of 2023, the Elsevier Pure system was designated as the official platform for managing the institution's research output. This study elucidates the experience of shifting to the new Pure site, emphasizing the drivers for the move, including the necessity for enhanced design adaptability, an optimum user experience, and alignment with the institutional image. It delineates the primary problems encountered, the adopted implementation strategy, and the insights gained. The study indicates that the new portal markedly improves the organization, visibility, and engagement with academic information, establishing itself as a strategic instrument to bolster research management at UCSM and to foster an academic culture that prioritizes scientific dissemination. 9:56 - 10:04
BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES TO REDUCE STRESS WITH A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS Universidad Católica de Santa María - (PE), Perú Chronic and acute stress has negative impacts on mental health, immune system and general well-being and is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and mood disorders. Although psychological and pharmacological therapy are common, such solutions are also not always available permanently and with real-time adjustment to the subject's state and, therefore, their efficacy in daily scenarios is restricted. To address this problem, this research presents an auditory device that will combine continuous monitoring of signs of stress, stimulation to the vagus nerve and adaptive responses (soothing music, vibrations) to automatically respond to physiological indicators of stress. The closed-loop system will allow for personalized and continuous intervention, in contrast to traditional passive approaches to stress management. The proposed project seeks to integrate the device with university students to improve academic, social and emotional performance, obtaining a 74% acceptance and approval level from our target audience. 10:04 - 10:12
Student Creativity at Risk: A Scoping Review of the Negative Effects of Generative AI in University Education 1Universidad César Vallejo - (PE); 2Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola - (PE) Despite the growing use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, there remains a limited critical understanding of its effects on key formative dimensions such as creativity. While its benefits are widely acknowledged, the associated risks have been insufficiently explored. In response to this gap, the present study conducted a scoping review aimed at identifying and analyzing the main negative effects of exposure to AI-generated content on student creativity. The methodological approach followed Arksey and O’Malley’s framework, complemented by the PRISMA 2020 diagram. The search was carried out in the Scopus database, restricted to open-access documents in English and Spanish, published between 2022 and 2025. From an initial set of 1,234 records, 26 studies met the inclusion criteria for full analysis. The findings were categorized into six emerging dimensions: cognitive, emotional, ethical, pedagogical, social, and technical. Common patterns included loss of divergent thinking, reduced originality, creative dependency, demotivation, and the deterioration of critical judgment. It is concluded that the negative impact of AI on creativity is neither uniform nor inevitable, but rather conditioned by the pedagogical, ethical, and formative frameworks guiding its use. 10:12 - 10:20
Teachers' perceptions of the implementation of the International Baccalaureate in Peruvian public education: Challenges and conditions for its viability 1Universidad César Vallejo - (PE), Perú; 2Universidad Autónoma del Perú - (PE); 3Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE); 4Universidad Tecnológica del Perú S.A.C. - (PE) The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an educational program recognized for its comprehensive approach and commitment to academic excellence. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility and benefits of implementing the IB in public educational institutions in Peru, with the purpose of transforming the educational service and raising the quality standards in teaching. Using a qualitative approach of a basic type and descriptive level, the in-depth interview technique was used, supported by a guide designed specifically for this study. The results reveal deficiencies in the current educational standards in public institutions and the need to strengthen teacher training to ensure effective implementation of the program. Likewise, the importance of incorporating innovative methodologies and technological tools to optimize learning spaces and enhance the development of skills in students was identified. The research concludes that the International Baccalaureate is not only a program of high educational impact but also represents a key opportunity to connect students and teachers with global educational communities, promoting innovation and pedagogical excellence. Its implementation could mark a turning point in Peruvian public education, by offering an educational model aligned with international standards. 10:20 - 10:28
Challenge-based work and its relationship with the development of entrepreneurial thinking in architecture students, Piura – Peru, 2025 Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego - (PE), Perú The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between challenge-based work and the development of entrepreneurial thinking among architecture students in Piura, Peru. The methodology was basic, simple correlational, cross-sectional, and non-experimental. The population consisted of 885 students and the sample of 269. The students completed two questionnaires. The result was a significant relationship between the two variables, with a result of 0.000. Furthermore, the correlation between the two variables was high (0.834). The conclusion was that the greater the challenge-based work, the greater the development of entrepreneurial thinking among architecture students in Piura, Peru. 10:28 - 10:36
Educational strategies to foster entrepreneurial mindsets in engineering: Systematic review of university programs 2019-2025 1Universidad Cesar Vallejo, Perú; 2Universidad Nacional de Trujillo - (PE); 3Universidad Peruana Union; 4Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Chota; 5Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca The objective of this review is to examine the existing scientific literature published during the period from 2019 to 2025 regarding educational strategies used to foster entrepreneurial mindset in engineering students. Design/methodology/approach: The systematic review conducted in this article was carried out as part of the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, with searches in the Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis databases. The inclusion criteria cover only empirical studies with an assessment of impact on entrepreneurial competencies, published in English and Spanish. All stages of the selection process, including the removal of duplicates, screening of titles and abstracts, and full-text review, resulted in 50 studies selected for final synthesis and analysis. Findings: The most effective educational strategies identified in the review were real-world project-based learning, specialized mentoring, university incubators, and business simulations. The competencies most favored through these strategies included entrepreneurial self-efficacy, creativity and innovation, and collaborative leadership. The most frequently reported success factors were explicit institutional support, adequate collaborative spaces, and teacher training. Limitations included insufficient resources, cultural resistance, and isolation from external ecosystems. Originality/value: The evidence presented shows that the most successful programs involve strategies in specific educational ecosystems, thus requiring sustained commitment and institutional cultural transformation. | ||
