Impacto de las estrategias Montessori en la autonomía infantil: un estudio preexperimental Universidad Cesar Vallejo, Perú
This article presents the results of a pre-experimental study aimed at analyzing the influence of strategies based on the Montessori method on children's autonomy. The intervention was carried out with four-year-old children, applying an observation guide before and after implementing activities designed to promote decision-making, self-management, and problem-solving. The data were processed using the Student t-test for related samples, obtaining a significant difference (t = value obtained, p = 0.000) in the general autonomy variable. The findings confirm notable progress: before the intervention, 62% of the children showed a low level of autonomy, while after applying the Montessori strategy, 85% achieved a high level. These results demonstrate that the Montessori methodology represents an effective tool for fostering independence and self-confidence from early childhood.

Architecture of Care with Female Leadership: Animal Shelter Design in Puerto Cortés as a Territorial Equity Strategy Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana - UNITEC - (HN), Honduras This article presents the participatory architectural design of an animal shelter for abandoned animals in Puerto Cortés, Honduras, with a focus on sustainability, animal welfare, and female leadership. Through a technical, territorial, and social diagnosis of the PROA shelter, the central role of women in the community-based management of animal care was evidenced, as well as the need for inclusive, resilient, and bioclimatic infrastructure. The design proposal incorporates universal design criteria, the use of local materials, biophilic strategies, and adaptation to the physical and socio-cultural context. The project aligns its approach with Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 11, promoting gender equality, urban resilience, and citizen participation. Furthermore, it stands out as a transformative educational experience by integrating engineering, empathy, and gender perspective. 8:46am - 8:54am
Analysis of the relationship between environmental awareness and residents’ willingness to engage in household waste segregation practices in San Miguel, Lima. Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú This applied, correlational, cross-sectional study examined the relationship between environmental awareness and household waste segregation practices in 383 residents of the district of San Miguel, Lima, during 2024. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire applied to a non-probabilistic sample, assessing the cognitive, affective and conative dimensions of environmental awareness, as well as self-reported segregation behaviors and attitudes. Results showed moderate levels of cognitive awareness and knowledge about segregation, high affective awareness, and low to moderate levels of conative awareness. Participants presented moderately favorable behaviors and mainly positive attitudes. However, Spearman's correlation analysis (ρ = 0.048; p = 0.350) did not evidence a statistically significant relationship between overall environmental awareness and segregation practices. These findings suggest that awareness alone does not predict effective segregation, so strategies need to focus on developing practical skills and reducing barriers to translate environmental concern into consistent action. 8:54am - 9:02am
Automated Irrigation System with Humidity Sensors to Optimize Water Use in Polloc Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú Abstract - This research paper describes the design and implementation of an automatic irrigation system based on humidity sensors to improve water use efficiency in rural areas in the Polloc district of Cajamarca. The research addresses the problem of inefficient water use in traditional agriculture, especially in communities with limited access to technology. A prototype was developed with resistive sensors, an Arduino UNO microcontroller, and a solenoid valve, powered by solar energy, and applied to 10 agricultural plots during a 30-day trial period. The results showed an average 38% reduction in water consumption and a 42% increase in water efficiency. The system also reduced the frequency and duration of irrigation and was well received by farmers, who highlighted its usefulness, ease of use, and potential for larger-scale implementation. It is concluded that this technology is a viable, sustainable, and replicable alternative to address irrigation challenges in rural areas. 9:02am - 9:10am
Women, Communion and Business: Social Transformation from the Economy of Communion Corporación Universitaria Del Huila - (CO) In the face of growing social inequality and economic exclusion, the Economy of Communion (EoC) is presented as an alternative business model centered on human dignity, solidarity, and the common good. This approach offers a transformative path in which female leadership plays an important role in building more just and sustainable organizations. The overall objective of this research was to analyze the role of women in the strengthening and sustainability of companies that operate under the principles of the EoC, using PADEVI in Timaná, Huila (Colombia) as a case study. The methodology used was qualitative, with a descriptive and exploratory design. Semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentary analysis were used, which provided a deeper understanding of organizational dynamics and the role of women within them. Among the results, it was identified that women lead key processes in production, environmental management, and decision-making, strengthening an organizational culture based on equity, cooperation, and community development. In conclusion, it is evident that female participation in EoC companies promotes sustainable and inclusive business models, transforming organizational practices through an ethical and relational approach centered on people. | ||
