2:28pm - 2:36pm
Improvement Plan to reduce operating costs in a Textile company in the city of Trujillo, 2024 Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú The objective of this project was to reduce the operating costs of a textile company. To carry out the study, a diagnosis of the company's current situation was made, identifying the main problems as equipment downtime, labor accidents, excessive fabric waste, loss of profits due to lack of raw material, and cost overruns resulting from noncompliance. To address these challenges, strategies such as the implementation of Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM), a Safety Management System (SG-SST), Total Quality Management (TQM), the use of the Kardex system and the Poka Yoke methodology were proposed. The actions designed included the review of technical data sheets, training in autonomous maintenance, a plan for cleaning, adjustment, and lubrication of critical equipment, as well as occupational safety protocols focused on risk assessment and personnel training. The economic analysis of the project shows an estimated total cost of S/ 4663.33 for its implementation, highlighting the feasibility and importance of these tools for reducing operating costs and continuously improving long-term efficiency. The financial results of the project are promising, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 440%, a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/. 125,551 and a Benefit/Cost (B/C) ratio of 1.49 2:36pm - 2:44pm
Improvement plan to reduce costs in an LPG packaging plant, 2024 Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú This work applied engineering knowledge to improve the situation of an LPG bottling plant, focusing on reducing costs by solving problems identified in an initial analysis. A diagnosis was made to prioritize the most harmful problems, and various alternatives were developed, choosing one based on specific criteria and restrictions. These alternative included standards such as Law No. 29783 on Occupational Safety and Health, and standards such as API RP 1170, NFPA 58, ASME B31.5, API RP 1162, and ASME BPVC, Section VIII for pressure vessels. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, EN 12807:2020 and ISO 14001:2015 were also applied to improve service quality, protect workers, design steel cylinders and manage environmental performance. Specific indicators allowed the development of the problems to be measured, and simulations were carried out in ProModel and Monte Carlo to validate the design. In the 5S tool upgrade, it was reduced from 77% to 23%; in preventive and autonomous maintenance, from 97% to 3%; and in the PDCA tool, it went from 45% to 55%. The economic evaluation showed a minimum rate of return of 18.49%, a NPV of S/. 34,213.71 and an IRR of 94%, indicating that the proposal is profitable. The B/C was 1.93 2:44pm - 2:52pm
Implementation of a Lean Manufacturing plant to reduce cost Overruns in the Footwear company Rosalia Full Moda S.A. Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú The present work has the objective of determining by how much cost overruns are reduced through the implementation of a Lean Manufacturing plan in the footwear company Rosalía Full Moda S.A. This company is dedicated to the manufacture of women's footwear and presents several problems related to production, including 10% of defective product, musculoskeletal diseases in workers, waste of square meters of leather, reprocessed products, poor distribution of the clothing workshop and non-fulfillment of orders. The total monetized loss from these six root causes amounts to S/. 19,748.30. To address these problems, the following tools were chosen: OWAS (Observational Walk-through Analysis System), TQM (Total Quality Management), SLP (Systematic Layout Planning) and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management). In addition, specific software and simulators were included to support the implementation of these tools, such as Promodel, Ergoniza, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and Stella. The results of the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing plan showed significant benefits, reflected in economic indicators such as the Net Present Value (NPV) of S/ 409,927.30 and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 688%. These indicators highlight the viability and profitability of the project, showing a considerable reduction in cost overruns and an improvement in the company's operating efficiency. 2:52pm - 3:00pm
Improvement Plan to reduce Cost Overruns in the Company Inversiones Vallmenti & Deyli E.I.R.L. Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú The general objective of this research work, which is to determine the extent to which the improvement plan reduces high costs in the footwear manufacturing company DEYLI Y VALEMNTI E.I.R.L, presents a non-experimental design methodology; on the other hand, alternative solutions are proposed in relation to engineering standards, with the execution of five tools which are the implementation of policies based on the Deming Cycle, Kardex system, improvement actions based on IPERC, Heijunka planning program and 5S methodology. The results indicate that the Deming Cycle tool provides us with a benefit of S/ 9,880.20, the Kardex has a benefit of S/ 52,266.95, the IPERC achieves a benefit of S/3,745.00, the Heijunka brings with it a benefit of S/5,405.64 and the 5S tool gives us a benefit of S/10,880. an IRR of 44% and C/B of S/2.78 generating higher profitability for the company of Inversiones Deyli y Valmenti, reducing the costs incurred by operational problems. 3:00pm - 3:08pm
Improvement plan for the reduction of operational costs of an agroindustrial company Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú This work was prepared based on the Capstone Project, which focuses on engineering design, addressing the implementation of standards such as ISO 9001 and specific legal regulations. The application of tools such as MRP, route sheet, 5S and TOC is highlighted to improve operational efficiency. In addition, the execution of the simulation in ProModel and Monte Carlo to evaluate indicators about the resolution of logistics problems and the optimization of processes in the field of engineering |
