Market Diversification and the Concentration of Peruvian Baby Lima Bean Exports Globally Universidad César Vallejo, Perú In the context of international trade, exports of Lima Baby beans represent a fundamental pillar of the Peruvian economy, with a significant increase in exports in recent years. The growth in exports can be attributed to the quality of the product, its nutritional value and the growing global demand for organic food, particularly in key markets in North America, Asia and Europe. In this context, the study conducts an analysis of global exports of Baby Lima beans between 2014 and 2023, paying particular attention to the competitiveness of the markets and companies involved. The study employs a quantitative methodology, analysing statistical data related to baby lima bean exports from SUNAT obtained through the VERITRADE trade intelligence tool. The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) was used to assess the concentration between destination markets and exporting firms. The results show that the analysis of Baby Lima Beans exports in Peru between 2014 and 2023 reveals fluctuations in both FOB value and net weight, reaching a maximum concentration of exporting firms in 2017 and a trend towards diversification in recent years. However, the number of destination markets remained stable with a slight upward trend. 12:08pm - 12:16pm
12:24pm - 12:32pm
Ecuadorian Chocolate's Revealed Comparative Advantage Post-EU Agreement: An RCA-Based Analysis 1Universidad de Guayaquil, Ecuador; 2Universidad ECOTEC This quantitative study examines the impact of the Multipartite Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the European Union on the competitiveness of Ecuadorian chocolate exports. Using the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA), we analyze the evolution of Ecuadorian chocolate's competitive position in the European market before and after the agreement came into force. The results show that, while the agreement has created opportunities for the Ecuadorian chocolate sector, challenges related to quality, sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, and trade promotion still persist. The conclusions of this research offer valuable implications for the formulation of public policies aimed at strengthening the competitive position of Ecuadorian chocolate in the global market and maximizing the benefits of the trade agreement. 12:32pm - 12:40pm
Implications of Smart Logistics in Nanostores: A Meta-analysis of Challenges and Opportunities for Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0 Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras - (HN), Honduras The increasing emphasis on human-centricity and adaptability has driven scholarly exploration beyond the technology-centric focus of Industry 4.0, leading to the emergence of Industry 5.0 (I5.0) and Society 5.0 (S5.0). This study aims to explore how these paradigms impact smart logistics operations within nanostores, focusing on the interplay between human-centric technologies and operational efficiency. A systematic meta-analysis, synthesizing 60 studies, and a detailed content analysis were employed to evaluate the integration of collaborative technologies, such as human-machine systems and human-robot collaboration, within nanostores' logistics. Key findings reveal a notable shift from Industry 4.0, emphasizing the growing interaction between humans and technology, which enhances operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The research is limited by the availability of empirical studies on I5.0 and S5.0 in nanostores, indicating the need for further investigation. The findings offer valuable insights for supply chain managers and business owners in nanostores, suggesting that adopting collaborative human-machine systems can significantly improve logistics outcomes. This research provides a novel framework for understanding the evolving role of human-technology collaboration in small retail environments and offers a roadmap for future research into smart logistics within these emerging paradigms. 12:40pm - 12:48pm
Use of Industry 4.0 tools in the phases of the supply chain: Systematic Review Universidad Tecnológica del Perú The complexity of the supply chain has influenced large companies. That is, the one who dominates the supply chain will obtain a competitive advantage in the market, so many organizations are looking for ways to improve it through new technologies such as Industry 4.0. The research study aims to find and describe the Industry 4.0 tools that affect the performance of the supply chain phases. The research work method begins by searching for sources using the PICO strategy from 2019 to 2024. 340 records were found in Scopus, 170 in Web of Science, and 48 articles were approved. The research results indicate that the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain improved the performance of the different phases of the supply chain. The conclusion of this study indicates that coordination, communication, and transparency between departments and suppliers were improved in the entry phase. Likewise, in the process phase, production was optimized through the efficiency of operations and timely delivery of materials. Finally, in the output phase, customer satisfaction improves by meeting product requirements. |
