Cobertura glaciar de los nevados del distrito de Catac, Ancash y su relación con la precipitación y temperatura durante el periodo 1988-2022 Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú The objective of this research was to analyze how precipitation and temperature affect changes in the glacial coverage of the snow-capped mountains of the Catac district during the period from 1988 to 2022. An applied study was carried out with an explanatory level and a longitudinal design. non-experimental, since the period from 1988 to 2022 was temporally analyzed. The remote sensing technique and the NDSI index (Normalized Differential Snow Index) were used to recognize the glacier, and the climate information was obtained from the PISCO-SENAMHI grid product. A decrease in glacier coverage was observed at a rate of 0.73 km² per year. The statistical correlation analysis revealed that temperature is the only factor that significantly influences changes in glacier cover, while precipitation is part of the glaciological balance system, but its influence on surface changes is not significant due to a superficial and non-volumetric analysis. In conclusion, the increase in temperature has a notable impact on glacier coverage, through the melting and instability of the ice. 12:08pm - 12:16pm
Application of a waxy coating to improve the quality and marketing of Tahiti lemons. Universidad Tecnológica del Perú S.A.C. - (PE), Perú Peruvian Tahitian lemons are experiencing a growing international demand, making it essential to maintain their post-harvest quality and extend their shelf life to ensure their commercial competitiveness. The present study sought to evaluate the performance of a commercial waxy coating in improving the quality and shelf life of Tahiti lemons. For this purpose, Citrosol A extra UE® coating was applied by spraying on the different export formats (4 kg, 16 kg, and 24 kg) under 7 °C conditions, then the effects of the coating on the parameters of weight loss, juice yield, °Brix, pH and acidity were evaluated; and an economic analysis was carried out to determine the feasibility of its use. The results showed that the Citrosol A extra UE® coating significantly reduced weight loss, with values of 29.4%, 18.0%, and 41.7% for the 4 kg, 16 kg, and 24 kg formats, respectively. No significant differences were observed in the °Brix and pH levels, all remaining within the optimum commercial range. Acidity showed a slight decrease in the coated fruits, while juice yield remained stable with no significant differences between treatments. The economic analysis showed that the application of the coating is economically viable, outweighing the costs associated with the benefits obtained in terms of loss reduction and maintenance of fruit quality. It is concluded that the application of the Citrosol A extra EU® coating maintained the commercial quality and prolonged the shelf life of Tahiti lemons, while offering a high economic profitability, showing itself as an alternative for producers and exporters of Tahiti lemons in Peru. 12:16pm - 12:24pm
Heat and non-heat treatments for maintaining food quality and safety. A review article Universidad Tecnológica del Perú S.A.C. - (PE), Perú Currently, food safety and security policies worldwide are gaining more strength in food production, making the optimization of preservation techniques generate a lot of interest for researchers in the food industry. The objective of this review is to analyze the thermal and non-thermal treatments used in the food sector. For this purpose, 62 scientific articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The results of the analysis identified the challenges of thermal treatments and how they can degrade foods. Non-thermal technologies (ultrasound, SC-CO2, HIPEF, cold plasma, pulsed energy, cryogenics, ozonation, membrane filtration, ionizing radiation and high hydrostatic pressure (HPP)) were also identified as promising alternatives, which prevent the formation of undesirable compounds and better preserve nutrients and sensory properties. It’s concluded that the implementation of these technologies has demonstrated significant improvements in shelf life and improvements in food safety and quality. 12:24pm - 12:32pm
Methodologies for the Utilization of Fish Waste: A Review of Literature Universidad Tecnologica de Perú - (PE), Peru The objective of this review is to identify methods that guarantee the utilization of fish waste to provide a better utilization of the valuable compounds it contains. In order to achieve greater clarity in the review, the PICO and PRISMA methodologies were used, and different search sources such as Scopus, ScienceDirect and ResearchGate were analyzed, which allowed access to a wide range of research, selecting 42 articles that met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the analysis made it possible to identify the shortcomings of conventional methods, which lead to the degradation of the target components. In addition, emerging methods were identified as efficient alternatives, highlighting ultrasonic extraction, supercritical fluids, microwaves, electric pulse field, deep eutectic solvent and green solvents. These green technologies allow maintaining its high protein content, as well as bioactive compounds (essential fatty acids, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, etc.). Finally, it is concluded that the implementation of technologies for the utilization of fish waste has been evolving, which have focused on maintaining and preserving the physicochemical and nutritional properties of the waste. 12:32pm - 12:40pm
Utilization of rubber tire waste: A focus on the circular economy. Universidad Tecnologica de Perú - (PE), Peru The inadequate disposal of rubber tire waste represents a significant environmental problem, with an annual production of 1.5 billion units of waste. The present Systematic Literature Review study sought to identify new technologies for the utilization of rubber tire waste, focused on the circular economy model. The PICOC methodology was used to formulate the research question and develop a search equation, allowing the collection of various articles in the Scopus and ScienceDirect databases, and then using the PRISMA methodology, inclusion and exclusion criteria were established, obtaining 31 articles. The results obtained indicate that the most promising technologies include pyrolysis, gasification, combustion and their use in the production of construction materials. Pyrolysis stands out for its efficiency in transforming tires into higher value by-products, while gasification and combustion stand out for helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, so it is necessary to implement these treatments for proper management of waste from rubber tires. It is concluded that the implementation of technologies focused on the circular economy model is essential to maximize the value of tire waste, given that its implementation is an effective solution that mitigates environmental impacts and optimizes the use of available resources. 12:40pm - 12:48pm
The Kaizen method in increasing productivity in manufacturing companies: Systematic Literature Review Universidad Tecnológica del Perú S.A.C. - (PE) Currently, companies focus on maintaining and increasing their competitiveness, efficiency and profitability, but all this is achieved through productivity. This is why it is necessary to use tools and methods that can optimize the efficient use of resources. One of these tools is the Kaizen method which fosters a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. A fundamental aspect of the Kaizen methodology is the identification and elimination of waste in processes. Reducing waste leads to more efficient utilization of resources such as time, materials and labor, which in turn improves the overall productivity of the company. Additionally, Kaizen optimizes operational efficiency by focusing on process standardization, eliminating bottlenecks, and implementing incremental improvements. In order to carry out an RSL on the implementation of this methodology, it was observed that the sources found in the period 2017-2023 on the application of the Kaizen methodology cover different sectors of manufacturing companies, however, there are no sources of Systematic Literature Review (RSL) that gather the information together. Therefore, through this scientific article we hope to group and organize all this information, so that it is useful for other researchers. |
