The present investigation focused on carrying out an analysis of the environmental impact produced by a municipal canal in the province of Trujillo, department of La Libertad, based on this, through a risk analysis, the activities that generated a greater risk were defined, and then evaluated through The Leopold matrix is the most affected environmental factor resulting from the production process of a municipal slaughterhouse. As a result, soil and water were defined as the most affected factors, so that later, by applying a plant layout redesign based on the Systematic Layout Plannig tool, the areas can be approximated according to degrees of importance, and the In turn, increase productivity by taking advantage of space and reducing transportation times. Finally, an increase in productivity by 56.87% was obtained and at the same time a reduction in solid waste by moving the waste generating areas closer to the waste area.

Análisis de intercambiabilidad en sistemas térmicos de alta y baja presión para mezclas biogás/metano/propano/hidrogeno.

Pedro Bryan IVARROLA GRANADOS, Waldir Eloy DE LA CRUZ FELIPE, Fernando SILVA, Juan Pablo Gómez Montoya

Universidad Tecnologica de Perú - (PE), Perú

A novel method is presented which allows to analyze the interchangeability of gases for fuel blends as biogas with hydrogen, methane, natural gas, propane and hydrogen. Which are based on thermodynamic laws and two methodologies which allows measure methane number and fuel energy quality. Some data was previously tested. In addition, simulations were done in software, METHANE 3.0 and ANSYS-CFD. The simulations were done in low pressure (atmospheric burner) previously drawn in the INVENTOR software. Experimental data were used from four biogas mixtures with additions of propane, hydrogen and methane, all with a methane number of 100. Mixtures that serve to establish the method of interchangeability of gaseous fuels in high-pressure thermal systems such as engines or turbines. Different physicochemical combustion properties were estimated for these mixtures, such as the Wobbe index, energy density, high and low heating value, adiabatic flame temperature and laminar flame speed. The mixtures turned out to be interchangeable at high pressure but not for low pressure, that is, they can be interchanged in engines or turbines but not in burners, furnaces or boilers.

Análisis comparativo del ciclo de vida para la huella de carbono de un vehículo a gasolina y un vehículo eléctrico.

Omar Alexis Unocc Godoy, Brayan Sergio Durand Angeles, Fernando SILVA, Juan Pablo Gómez Montoya

Universidad Tecnologica de Perú - (PE), Perú

This work presents the results of a comparative analysis of the carbon footprint between an electric vehicle (EV) and a gasoline vehicle (ICEV) from the manufacturing stage to the recycling process. Various variables were considered, such as the electrical energy generation matrix in South Korea for the manufacturing of vehicles and the energy matrix of Peru for operation in different mileage scenarios. As a case study, two Hyundai brand vehicles were analyzed, collecting information on their technical characteristics provided by the manufacturer. CO2 emissions were calculated, taking into account the carbon footprint coefficients of the various variables in each stage of the life cycle. The results obtained in different mileage scenarios show that, for shorter distances, the difference in average gCO2 emissions between the gasoline vehicle and the electric vehicle is minimal. However, in higher mileage scenarios, the gCO2 difference is significantly larger for gasoline vehicles. These results indicate a positive impact on the reduction of greenhouse gases in Peru, highlighting the importance of these findings for making decisions that favor the environment. In addition, the need to create social awareness about the levels of greenhouse gases is highlighted to accelerate the change in the country's energy grid.

Pesticide residuals in agricultural soils are a global problem that puts non-target organisms, including humans, at risk. The involvement of universities in agricultural activities can be beneficial for monitoring the contamination or residuality of pesticides used on farmland. Therefore, in the present investigation, a method was developed for the quantification of profenofos (PFF) by Thin Layer Chromatography using a mobile phase chloroform: acetone (60:40) obtaining a retention factor (Rf) of 0.35. Using image processing with Image J software resulted in a linear method with an R2 completion coefficient of 0.9966 which is greater than 0.995, precise with a coefficient of variation (CV) of 1.78 % which is less than 2.7 %, accurate with a recovery percentage of 101.04 % which is in the range of 90 to 110 % with limits of detection and quantification of 0.0639 µg and 0.1522 µg respectively. PFF was quantified in onion and garlic agricultural soils, resulting in concentrations of 0.252 and 0.264 mg/kg, respectively. In conclusion, the present methodology could be adapted to determine other pesticides or be applied in the field for monitoring PFF in agricultural soils by universities or governmental entities, which could lead to more responsible agriculture.

The nitrate removal performance with a biosorbent based on Moringa oleifera Lam seeds was evaluated in the surface waters of the lower basin of the Chillón River - Puente Piedra District Lima, Peru in 2023. Initially, the water sample was characterized, obtaining the initial physicochemical parameters such as pH (6.5), nitrates (36.8 mg / L) and turbidity (23.7 NTU). A 23 factorial design was used, with 2 levels (high and low) and 3 variables pH (5 and 8), time (20 and 40 min) and moringa dose (1 and 2 g / 100 mL), being a total of 8 treatments with 2 repetitions. It was found that pH, time and dose significantly influence the nitrate removal performance by applying Moringa oleifera Lam seeds as a bioadsorbent. A percentage of 73.32% was achieved with a pH of 8, a time of 20 minutes and a dose of 1 g/100 mL. Moringa seed is recommended as a sustainable, low-cost and eco-friendly alternative to absorbent chemical products.
