Preliminary validation of an AI- and AR-based immersive environment for engineering education: an exploratory study of technology acceptance Universidad de la Cuenca del Plata, Argentina The integration of immersive technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) opens new possibilities for engineering education. This paper presents the design, development, and preliminary validation of an immersive environment aimed at three-dimensional visualization of academic content, including mathematical functions of three variables. A functional prototype was implemented and its technological acceptance was assessed through a structured survey administered to an intentional sample of 12 participants (students and faculty), based on the dimensions of the Technology Acceptance Model (perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention to adopt). Results indicate high perceived usefulness, positive evaluation of the immersive experience, and strong intention for future use. However, given the exploratory nature of the study, the short duration of the experience, and the absence of objective academic performance metrics, findings should be considered preliminary evidence. The study provides a foundation for future research aimed at evaluating the longitudinal impact of immersive environments in engineering education. Impact of Active Breaks as a Tool for Mitigating Musculoskeletal Disorders and Improving Productivity Indicators in the Colombian Metalworking Sector Escuela Tecnológica ITC - (CO), Colombia Workers in Colombia’s metal-mechanical sector routinely endures physically demanding conditions (including awkward postures, repetitive motions, and manual handling of heavy loads) that place them at high risk for work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Although national regulations, from the 1991 Constitution to Resolution 0312 of 2019, enshrine the right to dignified working conditions and explicitly advocate for active breaks as a preventive health strategy, their practical implementation remains inconsistent due to cultural resistance, logistical gaps, and weak managerial commitment. Through a systematic review of scientific literature and regulatory documents published between 2019 and 2025, this monograph examines the dual role of active breaks: as a protective measure against MSDs and occupational stress, and as a catalyst for productivity gains-such as enhanced focus, reduced absenteeism, and improved task quality. Findings suggest that, far from disrupting workflow, well-adapted and participatory active break programs foster a virtuous cycle where worker well-being and operational efficiency reinforce each other. However, a significant gap persists between policy mandates and on-the-ground practices. This study calls for reimagining occupational health and safety not as a bureaucratic checkbox, but as a living, human-centered practice embedded in the daily rhythms of industrial work. Cultural Identity and AI-Driven Gastronomic Entrepreneurship in Bogotá Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD - (CO), Colombia This article presents the application of knowledge acquired in the Industrial Design program and in the Food Product Architecture course as part of the academic training process at UNAD. From a social innovation and Design Thinking perspective, prototypes were developed that reinterpret traditional Colombian products such as tamal and merengón, incorporating Artificial Intelligence and 3D printing technologies. Special emphasis is placed on the Tamal Skewer, which symbolically integrates the church of Monserrate Hill at its upper section and a base inspired by the Teleférico, designed with a waste-collection function. Furthermore, the study documents the transfer of academic knowledge into real gastronomic entrepreneurship initiatives and participation in the IV and V editions of the Festival del Guarapo in Bogotá. | ||
