Comparative advantage of citrus fruits exported from emerging countries to the United States, 2005-2024 1: Universidad César Vallejo - (PE); 2: Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas - (PE), Perú; 3: Universidad El Bosque - (CO); 4: Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE); 5: Universidad Tecnológica del Perú UTP - (PE) This study analyzes the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) of citrus exports from the main exporting countries to the U.S. market during the period 2005–2024. The specific objectives were to identify the revealed comparative advantage (RCA) of the main exporters (Peru, Mexico, and Colombia) to the U.S. market during the same period. The methodology used is applied, with a descriptive quantitative approach, a nonexperimental design, and a longitudinal cross-sectional framework. The data set consisted of citrus export data (2005–2024) compiled from the TRADE MAP platform. The results showed that Peru achieved the highest revealed comparative advantage, with an average of 2.11, peaking at 4.36 in 2022. In comparison, Mexico obtained an RCA of 1.14 and Colombia recorded 1.07. It is concluded that Peru ranks as the leading country in terms of competitiveness and export specialization, confirming the proposed hypothesis. | |
