LACCEI 2026 Tours

As part of LACCEI 2026, two types of complementary activities will be offered:

A.Institutional Networking Tours

These tours are currently being defined in coordination with CONDEFI and will be designed to strengthen academic, institutional, and professional collaboration among participants, in line with LACCEI’s mission to promote global cooperation in education, research, innovation, and technology.

  1. Visit to the University of Development (UDD), maximum 30 people.

B. Tourism Tours

The tourism tours will be operated by TRANSPORTE E INMOBILIARIA DICAER SPA. Transportation will be provided using two 42-seat semi-reclining buses and one 25-seat Mitsubishi Rosa minibus for the snow excursion.

The cost will be USD 15 per person. LACCEI is only coordinating the transportation service for this fee; all other tour activities, admission fees, meals, and any additional expenses are not included.

The registration opening date has been rescheduled (originally planned for July 1) because the transportation company has not yet submitted the signed contract.

All tours will depart on the same day and at the same time. Tour options will be available for selection beginning on July 13 at 9:00 a.m. (Miami/New York time) through the ConfTool registration system::

  1. Viña del Mar & Valparaíso Tour: A visit to the most iconic tourist and historical attractions of these two renowned Chilean cities. In Viña del Mar, participants will visit landmarks such as the Flower Clock, Quinta Vergara, Carrasco Palace, and Rioja Palace. In Valparaíso, famous for its bohemian atmosphere, participants will explore areas known for their street art, colorful hills, and cultural heritage.
  2. Snow Trip (Farellones and Plaza de los Pumas): This tour offers the opportunity to enjoy winter scenery in the Andes Mountains and explore the surroundings of Farellones and Plaza de los Pumas.
  3. Undurraga Winery and Pomaire Village Tour: This tour includes a guided visit of approximately one hour at Undurraga Winery. Participants will tour the winery grounds, including the Aliwen Corner, where the Mapuche worldview and traditions are presented, as well as the vineyards, varietal gardens, and historic cellars. The visit concludes with a tasting of four reserve wines. The tour then continues to Pomaire, a traditional village famous for its handcrafted clay pottery. Admission fee of 24,500 Chilean pesos.

Departure Conditions:

  • Each tour requires a minimum occupancy of 50% of the vehicle capacity in order to operate.

  • LACCEI guarantees the departure of all three tours once this minimum participation level is reached and will assume any necessary cost difference to ensure their operation.

  • In addition, a transportation services agreement has been signed with the provider and will be available for review by all participants registered for any of the three tourism tours.
