Environmental awareness and solid waste management in the Puente Piedra district, 2024.

Silvia Isabel De la Cruz Mayo, Magda Rosa Velásquez Marin

Univesidad Privada del Norte, Perú

The project aims to find the relationship between environmental awareness and solid waste management in the Puente Piedra district in 2024. Using a quantitative approach, a non-experimental and correlational design was carried out, with a sample of 384 people, collecting data through a validated questionnaire that evaluated the dimensions of both variables. The reliability of the instrument was established with a Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0,85 for the environmental awareness variable and 0,91 for solid waste management, which ensures internal consistency in the responses. The findings indicated a moderate positive correlation (Spearman's Rho of 0,429) between environmental awareness and solid waste management, confirming that a higher level of environmental awareness is associated with better waste management. The majority of respondents, 82,03%, demonstrate a medium level of environmental awareness, while 89,32% reflect a medium level in solid waste management. In summary, although there is evidence of a significant relationship between both variables, structural and cultural obstacles persist that hinder their effective implementation. It is recommended to strengthen environmental education initiatives and optimize the infrastructure for collection and recycling in the district.

Integrating Ethics in Engineering Education: Determinants and Pedagogical Strategies

Fernando Ramos Zaga

Universidad Privada del Norte - (PE), Perú

In a world where technology is advancing at an exponential pace and constantly redefining the boundaries of what is possible, engineers are confronted with unprecedented ethical challenges. However, ethical training in engineering programs remains fragmented and inconsistent on a global scale, resulting in a concerning gap between technical competence and social responsibility. In this context, the objective of the present study is to analyze the integration of ethics into engineering education by examining the determinants that influence engineering students' ethical attitudes, with the aim of proposing pedagogical strategies that effectively promote ethical formation within engineering curricula. To this end, a systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and IEEE Xplore, employing a predefined set of keywords and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that demographic diversity, institutional culture, and the perceived divergence between techno-social aspects significantly influence students' ethical attitudes. Moreover, strategies such as experiential learning, stakeholder engagement, and case-based discussions contribute to enhancing ethical awareness and professional responsibility. Nevertheless, resistance to ethics education persists, particularly in topics related to diversity and inclusion. In conclusion, the study underscores the need for a holistic approach that balances technical competence with ethical considerations by addressing cultural and institutional barriers and incorporating social responsibility into curricula, ultimately preparing engineers to navigate the complex ethical challenges of their professional practice.

Multivariate model of factors associated with attitude towards learning in students of a public university in Peru, 2023.

Manuel Edwin Perez Samanamud, Luciano Perez Guevara, Alipio Riveros Cuellar, Miguel Vladimir Perez Samanamud

Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal - (PE), Perú

Abstract- The purpose of this research was to evaluate through a multivariate model the factors associated with the attitude towards learning in students of a Public University of Peru, 2023, using an instrument consisting of 31 questions validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Methodologically it is observational, with a population of 800 and a sample of 505, transversal and analytical. The following results were obtained: the three constructs associated with attitude towards learning were: learning methodology (0.54) contributed the most in terms of factor loadings, followed by motivation to learn (0.24) and finally the usefulness of the subject (0.13). No significant association was found between teacher suitability and attitude towards learning, controlling variables through multivariate analysis (multiple linear regression and structural equations). Multiple linear regression and then the Structural Equations Model (SEM) were applied, with the latter being the best model due to the validatio

Generative Artificial Intelligence transforms higher education, offering opportunities such as personalization of learning and immediate access to information. However, it poses significant ethical and social challenges. Research of qualitative approach, basic, inductive-hermeneutic method, the technique used was the interview with a structured guide of open questions, addressed to university teachers and students, then the QDA Miner Lite software was used, the research reveals the different perceptions between teachers and students about privacy, security and the impact on educational relationships. While recognizing benefits, concerns persist about dehumanization, the digital divide and inequity in access to technology. Authors such as Kant, Rawls, Piaget and Freire stress the need for an ethical and equitable use of these tools to promote critical thinking and individual responsibility. The results suggest implementing ethical committees, guaranteeing equitable access to technologies and the development of critical thinking that integrates GSI into the professional training system.

Abstract– Community participatory methodologies are currently recognized as an effective mechanism for the development of public policies and for the implementation of actions with a greater potential for effectiveness and sustainability. In this context, this article analyzes the trends related to these methodologies in the last two decades. Methodologically, the study addresses the bibliometric perspective through a co-occurrence and bibliographic coupling analysis based on articles retrieved from the Scopus database. Based on the identified criteria, a total of 975 documents were considered in the analysis. From the bibliographic coupling analysis, 11 clusters were obtained that represent the main trends in the context of community participatory methodologies. Their implementation in different contexts such as public health, co-creation of community services, environmental, artistic and cultural projects is highlighted. Likewise, the importance of these methodologies in the processes of social innovation, sustainability and community development is explored.

Program of Education, Culture and Environmental Citizenship and environmental awareness in students of an Educational Institution

Eliana Mallma Espinoza, Alexandra Quispe Quispe, Magda Velásquez Marin

Universidad Privada del Norte, Perú

The main objective of this research study was to determine the relationship between the EDUCCA Municipal Program and environmental awareness in primary level students of Educational Institution No. 1214 Señor de Los Milagros. The applied methodology had a quantitative approach, along with a non-experimental design, with a relational and basic scope. The population and sample, being census type, were made up of the same number of participants, which was 85 primary school students. The technique applied to collect the data was the survey, while a questionnaire per variable was used as an instrument. The results showed that a large number of students present high levels of the EDUCCA Municipal Program and environmental awareness, representing 74,12% and 78,82% respectively. It is also concluded that Spearman's Rho coefficient is 0,715 and the level of significance is less than 0,001, which indicates that there is a strong positive correlation between both variables.
