This article attempts to cover one aspect of teaching mathematical content and process-oriented knowledge in mathematics education studies at the tertiary level (university level) which the author finds especially interesting and which may be didactically very useful: the product formula(s) for differentiation (derivatives) and the corresponding proof(s).
