Lassi AHLVIK, University of Helsinki ERC Starting Grant: GRETA - Green tax reform for a just climate transition The "GRETA" project analyses the effects of climate policy on various societal groups, investigates people’s notions of fairness and strives to understand how harmful effects can be mitigated through taxation. The study combines information economics, which aims to make the tax system as effective as possible while relying on incomplete information, with Finnish registers of individuals and businesses.
Francesco LAMPERTI, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies ERC Starting Grant: FIND - Finance and Innovation to couple Negative emissions and sustainable Development The FIND project aims to explore the impact of carbon removal strategies within the context of sustainable development. This project emerges from the critical recognition that, to adhere to the 1.5°C degree target set by the Paris Agreements, negative emission technologies (NETs) are essential.The FIND project addresses pivotal questions of critical policy relevance regarding the development, diffusion, and deployment of NETs. It seeks to understand their implications for sustainable development by drawing on innovation studies, economic geography, financial economics, complex system modeling, and macroeconomic analysis.
