Motherhood is in crisis in the capitalist Western world, especially in the US where there is no policy to support caregiving, postpartum care, paid parental leave, or universal childcare. One of the many consequences of the pandemic is the impact on mothers with millions of women leaving the workforce. Data does not encompass the problems we face as mothers—we have shared and unique experiences through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and motherhood. We see value in rejecting preconceived understanding about data collection and sharing. In doing this, we work toward a feminist future based on care. In this conversation, participants will exchange stories and experiences that become data. The conversation will continue after the event to preserve community.
